We are building a platform for diverse communities making fashion on their own terms. This will be a place to read articles, and view community and network profiles; a place to learn about alternative clothing systems putting people and planet first.
PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS, WORKSHOPS AND MEET-UPS
We want you to be able to get involved in the communities making real clothing culture, driven by the needs of people not profit. This will be a place to view community events, workshops and meet-ups near you or online, or find a community to join.
REAL CLOTHING CULTURE, FOR COMMON PEOPLE
Forget mass-market trends, overconsumption, and corporate profits. We want to highlight diverse communities around the globe who are remaking fashion on their own terms: vibrant; authentic; made with intention and integrity.
We will show fashion lovers another way of being in this world. We want to be proud commoners, part of a global clothing commons.
WHY DO WE DO WHAT WE DO?
Fashion is an extractive industry that must grow at any cost.
We believe in the power of clothing commons where clothing culture exists not to serve the market, but to serve the customs, culture and needs of ordinary people. They exist to provide for the needs of communities and steward their collective wealth for future generations. By joining together a network of clothing commons, we can move away from excess and towards sufficiency, regenerative practices, and a thriving diversity of clothing cultures.
